March Goals.

March Goals.

Hello March!

Can anyone else quite believe that we’re already two months into 2019? I’m not sure where the time has gone but I’m also not too fussed about it…January and February are always a bit of struggle for most people, myself included. The dark, cold mornings make it hard to get up in the morning and leaving work 8 hours later to find that it’s, yet again, dark outside is just really draining. Not to mention how hard it is to take photographs when it’s so grim outside! However, recently I’ve been seeing daffodils in shops, the sun has been out and it’s still light outside at 5pm! Oh yes, I’m very happy to see you, March…

I have just a few goals for this month, nothing overly crazy, just enough to keep me going and motivated.

Invest in a new camera…

I have been saving for a camera for what feels like forever but I just felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. I had my eyes on a camera that I thought I needed because that’s what other professional bloggers seem to be using, despite it’s four figure price tag being WAY out of my ideal budget - influencer marketing at it’s finest I guess. After chatting with a few of the girls from the instagram pod I’m in (shoutout to Lucy and Hannah for bringing me back down to earth), I’ve realised that it’s not the end of the world if my camera body isn’t the crème de la crème and that it’s actually mostly always in the lens, as long as I’m happy with it then that’s all that matters. With this mind set and a whole lot of research, I think I’ve found the perfect one for me and Olly to use! I’ve put some money away and I’m able to buy the camera body on this month’s payday and the lens with some generous birthday money next month. It’s all very exciting, especially now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Get myself organised for my new blog project!

I’ve got an idea up my sleeve for something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now, but never really had the ‘spark’ to do it. All will be revealed soon, I promise, but until then I’m having to get seriously organised and just get on top of things in general really. I’m going to plan my time wisely and really use this month to kick start my project in a big way and get it going. I’m really looking forward to it… any guesses on what it may be?

Feel more confident in front of the camera…

Recently, I’ve been making a conscious effort to get in front of the camera as apposed to being the one taking the photos all the time. My blog wife Penny has been encouraging me a lot lately to become more confident and I’m forever thankful for her knowing what kind of shots I like and what doesn’t really float my boat, it makes shooting painless and breezy. I’ve been trying to up my confidence anyway and I do find that spending time front and center is really helping with it. It doesn’t take too long for me to get the shots I’m happy with, Penny calls me a one shot wonder, although I’m not sure I’m quite at that point yet. With a new camera on the horizon however, I’m determined to become happier in front of the lens.

Send out some letters & post to a few lovely people.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately that I want to send a few of my online friends something special in the post. Kind of like a pen pal but in 2019! I’ve already got one little package sorted, I just need to send it off which is super exciting. This month I just really wanted to spread the love a little further than a DM on instagram and I think this is the perfect little way to do that. Who doesn’t love to receive hand written post these days?!

All in all, it’s looking like an easy month for me! Do you guys have any goals you want to work towards this month? Please do let me know!
