Rediscovering My Love For Make Up.
Let’s talk about beauty…
Recently, I have found myself endlessly scrolling on the Space NK and Charlotte Tilbury websites, lusting after some of the most beautiful make up I have ever seen. I know that may sound slightly melodramatic but can anyone really resist the gorgeous beauty products that CT creates at this time of year? Or at any time of the year, for that matter…
I have fallen back in love with make up over the past few months. I think it stemmed from when Olly and I visited our favourite city, New York, back in September. I may have accidentally fell into multiple Sephora stores where I may have accidentally given them almost all of my money. The beauty obsession began… Here I picked up the IT Cosmetics CC cream which now holds a very firm place in my heart. I love to apply this with a beauty blender and it gives the most perfect levels of coverage + glooow! I find that this also sits better the longer it’s on my face, which almost never happens to me. I also picked up the oh so dreamy Luminous Dewy Skin Mist from Tatcha. I saw that Kate recommended this in one of her vlogs, so I knew I had to pick it up, I was not disappointed. This gives the most wonderful dewy gloss to my make up in a way that makes me feel like I’ve just stepped into a chic Chloé store in the middle of Paris, rather than making me feel like I’ve just stepped out of the gym after a long work out looking like a sweaty mess… Trust me girls, you need this. I also like to spritz it on no make up days too, to give my skin a little pick me up.
The wonderful team at World Duty Free UK reached out to me recently, and asked if they could kindly send me some products, of course I said yes! When the package arrived, I have to admit, I thought I was going to cry. I had never seen anything so beautiful in all my life, I felt very overwhelmed with how lucky I am to receive such lovely parcels within 2/3 weeks. The first package was made up of WDF’s exclusive travel kits, to make travelling that little bit easier. The first product that caught my eye was the little perfumes from Viktor & Rolf, I was especially excited to see this as I’ve always wanted to try one of their perfumes! I keep one of these in my bag to have with me at all times, one on my dresser and I’ve now asked Father Christmas for the beautiful Flowerbomb perfume, fingers crossed I’ve been good… Inside the package was also a NARS kit, I was super relieved to see my most loved concealer back in my life! There was also one of the lip pencils in the shade, Dolce Vita. It’s a deep red shade, which I tend to shy away from, but I have a feeling that if I dab this on with my finger rather than directly apply it, that may make it more a wearable shade for me this winter. I was also incredibly lucky to find a little YSL duo, this really took my eye because, holy cow, isn’t YSL packaging just so dreamy? I’ve never tried the Touche éclat corrector before so it’s really nice just adding this under my eyes to just give a subtle pop of light. The mascara however, is now my firm favourite that I like to use daily. I think I’ve now perfected the level of volume and separation and it really helps to open my eyes.
As I mentioned, roughly 2 or 3 weeks later, I received yet another parcel from the lovely team and this time, once again, I had to hold back the tears. This time, I was lucky enough to be gifted the new Urban Decay Cherry palette alongside some other dreamy products. I am so in love with this palette, it’s unreal. I’m yet to try anything daring but I do love the subtle pop of colour I get from using the lighter shades. This would be ideal for anything Christmas related, including work parties and meeting friends for hot chocolates. I can’t wait to use it more over my Christmas break! They also included my all time favourite setting spray, which I was more than happy to add into my beauty stash. I have fallen in love with the UD Flushed palette, I can be lazy when it comes to make up so to have a bronzer, blush AND a highlighter all in the same compact, it’s a lazy girl’s dream. I’ve been trying to switch up my go-to make up look ever so slightly, so I like to now use the UD glide-on eye pencil just for a subtle line of thickness. It’s a bronze shade with some slight shimmer in it, making the perfect addition over the festive period.
I have been loving changing up my make up stash at the moment, there are definitely a few bits that I’m lusting over too… I’m looking at you Hourglass Unlocked Palette and everything Pillowtalk from Charlotte Tilbury. Is there anything beauty related you’re currently dreaming about?
